Measures to Protect Against the Sun: Spending extended periods of time in the sun raises your risk of developing skin cancer and premature skin aging. This risk can be reduced by consistently applying a sunscreen with a Broad-Spectrum SPF of 15 or greater and by taking additional sun protection precautions, which may include:
Limit your time in the sun, especially between the hours of 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
Dress in long-sleeved shirts, slacks, caps, and sunglasses to protect yourself from the sun.
